As a part of our commitment to the ongoing training and development of our personnel, Sheriff Smith recently unveiled the agency\u2019s new “simunition” shoot house which allows training for STPSO personnel and specialized units related to urban entry techniques and tactics in residential and business settings. The facility also allows for improved training for potential active shooter situations through scenario-based training. Previously, STPSO personnel were forced to travel outside the parish to train at facilities that charge for use and\/or presented scheduling challenges.
